Background After some side effects of chemical compounds for therapeutic drugs have been proven, whether for humans or animals, which may have a devastating effect on some vital organs in the body such as the liver and kidneys and some cells such as pancreatic and spleen cells, as well as their clear impact on the immune system, which represents the natural balance in resistance to diseases that affect the human and animal body, recent trends have been done towards medicinal plants, as they play an important role in the treatment of some infectious diseases in humans and animals because of the substances they contain that have the effectiveness of antibiotics on bacteria, fungi, and parasites.
Methodology: The rosemary and sage plants were extracted by weighing 50 g of the plant after drying it and extracting with distilled water 500 ml of solutions for an hour at a temperature of 40 C to obtain an aqueous solution. These bacteria were isolated from people infected with urinary tract infections. The result of the effect of rosemary and sage extracts on inhibiting the growth of Proteus bacteria. Several concentrations of both plants were used: 20%, 40%, and 60%, where 60% gave the highest inhibition of these bacteria (22.6), while 40% of rosemary gave 15. As for the sage plant, the concentration gave 60% an inhibition zone of 24.3 mm, while the concentration gave 40% a 16 mm inhibiting zone. The effect of rosemary and sage extracts in inhibiting the production of hemolacin, which is one of the virulence factors of Proteus bacteria and works on the analysis of red blood cells, of the sage plant's 5%, the rosemary plant is considered the best in inhibiting the production of hemolacin.
